Transport Rule - Outside the Organization RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a rule setup in office 365 tenant for Outside the organization.  The rule sets a disclaimer on messages coming from outside of our organization. The rule is setup to apply if the sender is located "Outside the organization".

We have an on prem exchange 2016 server that is only used for SMTP that is supposed to be routing these emails.  The servers that are sending the emails are all internal to our organization.

The problem is we are seeing messages that are coming from inside (coming from one of our accepted domains) and they are getting tagged as outside and applying the disclaimer we have applied in the rule.

    Any ideas?

Ensure the send connector and inbound 365 connector are setup correctly.Note the settings and cert requirements so that the mail from on-prem is considered internal and trusted
