    1. is there anything that happened because of DPM?

    2. Is it something like during backup process if someone would access vcenter portal (vcenter DB), will it be courrepted?

    3.  Does DPM lock the DB before proceeding backup?

  • Hi,

    1. is there anything that happened because of DPM?

You might be having too little resources for your database, hence the locks. I suggest you ask the more subject matter experts in the dedicated SQL Server forum:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-us/home?category=sqlserver

    2. Is it something like during backup process if someone would access vcenter portal (vcenter DB), will it be courrepted?

No, a backup should not corrupt anything, nowadays an application can be used fully even during backups.

    3.  Does DPM lock the DB before proceeding backup?

No, it wouldn't lock the database, it would use SQL VSS to snapshot the SQL database while live, and not stop anything. Make sure the SQL Server is running a version that is supported by DPM also.

    Best regards,
    Leon
