Wait for new window timeout RRS feed

  • Question

  • When IE opens a new window and the window takes a long time to respond, IE opens another one.

I'm automating IE with Selenium (http://seleniumhq.org/) and it slows down IE to the point that IE opens another window for navigation instead of using the one it opened as a result of a call to window.open().

Is there a way to extend this wait time?

  • I'm not sure if the timeout you are looking for is the same one, but have you tried changing:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ReceiveTimeout

You have to reboot after setting it, from what I've read.

  • Hi David,

That is for connection timeout. What I'm looking for has nothing to do with connections.

What I'm looking is for a way for Internet Explorer wait more time before a window opened in script replies to the opener.
