Skype for Business Web App Plugin Issue with MAC users RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Team,

We have Skype for business server 2019 edge configured. We have our reverse proxy in place. All users except the MAC users are able join the conference using the Skype For Business web app plug in. Once the MAC user joined the meeting, they are not able to install the audio plug-in and they never get the audio.

Kindly let me know how to fix this.

    Thank You.

  • Hi!

Are there any error messages when mac users install Skype for Business Web App plugin?

Can mac user join in Skype for Business meeting normally with Skype for Business App?

  • Hello,

The initial web app plug-in gets installed. After that is asks for installing the audio plug-in. It shows the downloading option and save the file. Once we saved the file to the drive it is not available in that location. No error is showing. SFB web app prevents us from joining the audio ( unable to select computer audio).

    Thank you

  • Hi,

On which version of MacOS are you?

My server is on SFB 2016.

Just trying to troubleshoot Mac users and Skype meeting.

    - MacOS 10.13: plugin installed - Working with Google Chrome - Not working with Safari = asking for plugin

    - MacOS 10.15: Plugin installed - Not working with Safari neither Google Chrome = asking for the plugin

I guess the webapp plugin is not recognize and more the computer is up to date more issue you have.

Does Microsoft completely forgot Mac users on Skype for business?

    Cheers

  • Hello Jimmy,

    Thank you for support.

But we are having users outside from our organization joining the meeting using skype web app. It is impractical advise the workaround you suggested as we, IT, are involved rarely for such kind of a meeting.

Do we have any fix from Skype for Business Server side for this ?

    Thank You
