Azure RMS with FCI and RMS Protection module - Files are not getting protected RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    i´ve setup Azure RMS with FCI and RMS Protection module following these instructions: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rights-management/rms-client/configure-fci and https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/mt433202.aspx

    Unfortunately no files getting protected when running the file management task. Protecting files by running the "Protect-RMSFile"-CMDlet or by running the argument line from the file management task in an elevated powershell are both working fine.

    What i have done so far:

    - Trouble Shooting tips mentioned in the instruction -> everything works fine

    - Create new service principal account

    - Running RMS-Analyzer -> no failures detected

    - checked the argument line several times :)

    - searching the web

    Actually i have no clue what to do next. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

    Thank you.

  • Look at the logs in these locations and see if there are clues there:

    %localappdata%\RMSProtection\Logging

    And

    %localappdata%\microsoft\msipc\Logs

    It's likely an issue with the service principal account since that would be the major difference between running it manually.

  • Thanks for your Reply.

    I found multiple errors in "%localappdata%\microsoft\msipc\Logs". The first error is  "Microsoft.DigitalRightsManagement.Licensing.NoRightsForRequestedPrincipalException", i´m going to investigate what that exactly means.
