  • What server is specified in the default applications OSD file in the "CODEBASE HREF" section? Often the server is specified with an environment variable %SFT_SOFTGRIDSERVER%. You need to create this system environment variable to point to your softgrid server.

  • Default applications OSD contains this following:
    "
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <SOFTPKG NAME="Default SoftGrid Application" VERSION="1.0">
This OSD contains information for DefaultApp.
        <IMPLEMENTATION>
            <CODEBASE HREF="rtsp://VMSERVER:554/DefaultApp.sft"
                FILENAME="DefaultApp\DefaultApp.exe"
                GUID="C582545A-1CA2-44D5-AA8C-3810C59FE690"
                SIZE="131072"/>
        </IMPLEMENTATION>
    </SOFTPKG>
    "
    VMSERVER is softgrid server name.
    I have created environment variable %SFT_SOFTGRIDSERVER%. But I receive the same error.
    In Desktop Configuration Server on clients station getting update Desktop Configuration informations from the server reception is successful.
    Whether it is necessary installed .Net Framework on the client?

  • Hi

    Can you check that you can ping the VMSERVER host name. Furthermore you need to make sure that your content directory (specified during installation and normally located in in the installdir\content) contains the DefaultApp.sft file.

    As your desktop refresh and icon publishing works fine there shouldn't be a general problem. You can quickly verfy if you can "telnet VMSERVER 554". With this command you should get connected and a "black" screen is presented.

    Otherwise I have no more ideas what the problem could be.

  • Khakimov,

    Can you check your SoftGrid server's log file (c:\program files\softricity\softgrid server\logs\sft-server.log in case of pre-4.5 servers, 4.5 has it in slightly different path) if there's something of interest over there?

    br,

    Kalle
