  • Hi,

as the time of the recovery point is the same it looks like you have overlapping recovery goals.

You can specify in the Protection Group configuration what to do when recovery goals overlap.

Seeing that the disk backup is empty, but the tape backup is not you must have enabled the option:
"Run backup only for the recovery goal with the longest retention range."

The option can be found in the Popup "Customize Recovery Goal" where you specify number of backup, retention etc.

    Cheers

  • Hi,

Protected data sources that are Co-located (SQL DB's, Clients, Hyper-V Guests) will not show the size in the recovery pane for disk recovery points.  However, since tape based backups are taken from the same replica as the disk based backups, then the size shown for tape is the same as the disk recovery point.   This is all normal - so there is nothing to worry about.

If it's important to see the size for disk based RP's - then stop protection of the SQL DB and delete replica, then re-protect them and uncheck the option to co-locate them and each DB will get a separate replica and will show size during recovery.

  • Hi,

Without being able to verify that one is co-located, I cannot explain the difference, however, as noted earlier, missing size is normal for disk based co-located data sources. If one happens to show it, consider it a bonus.
