    does direct access work with windows 10 enterprise 2016 LTSB? I know it works with 2015 LTSB but cant find anything on 2016 LTSB

    As mentioned in the Microsoft documentation, the following client operating systems support Direct Access:
    Windows 10 Enterprise
    Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 Long Term Servicing Branch (LTSB)
    Windows 8 Enterprise
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Windows 7 Enterprise

    DirectAccess is supported in all versions of Windows 10 Enterprise, to answer your question directly. Yes, it will work for your scenario. In addition to David's list, there are a few other operating systems who can be DirectAccess clients (yes, even Windows Servers can be DA client computers - such as in a branch office scenario). Here's a full list:

    Windows 10 Enterprise
    Windows 10 Education
    Windows 8.x Enterprise
    Windows 7 Enterprise
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Windows Server 2016
    Windows Server 2012 R2
    Windows Server 2012
