[MIM2016]When will localization be available to public? RRS feed

  • Question

  • It seems MIM 2016 only has en-US available for now.

Would anyone know when will localization be available to public?

  • As Peter mentioned, the Language Packs are on the ISO.

However, be aware that with MIM 2016 RTM, the localization is broken if you're using a regional language in your browser that is different from the language pack default, e.g. fr-CA vs. the fr-FR or es-AR vs. es-ES.  In those cases, MIM will default to en-US instead of the parent language.   This applies only to the MIM Portal; the SSPR Portals will render in the correct language regardless of the region setting.

  • Localizations are already available since  MIM goes GA.

    In other word, FIM/MIM is/was always Multi-Language.

There is a folder in the ISO for Language Packs of Service/Portal and Add-ins and extensions.

Use the following steps to install additional languages of Portal/service:

    1. Setup SharePoint Foundation EN

    2. Install SharePoint Foundation additional language packs (of all languages you need)

    3. install MIM Service/Portal (which is always EN)

    4. Install Portal/Service Language Pack.
