  • Yes will work exchange 2010 as well. As its mentioned that so pls check and update if things doesn't work.

    1. Active Directory Mailbox ACLs – Full Mailbox Permission requires in the mailbox ACLs at Active Directory level to access mails, so this is not correct place where we can configure Read-Only permission.
    2. MAPI Folder Permissions – This is the correct place for our requirement. Let’s discuss how to do so.

  • Will the MAPI folder permissions apply to users that are accessing the mailbox via OWA or IMAP?  Our compliance officer works out of another state and uses OWA to access the journaling mailboxes that have been set up and ideally we want to give read only access.

  • I have with success used the latest version of the ExFolders utility, on a Hosted Exchange 2010SP2 installation

    http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/Exchange-2010-SP1-ExFolders-e6bfd405

Remember to read the readme file, and run the .reg file or the commands specified there.

Also, for Exchange 2010 SP2, it is NEEDED, that the user running ExFolders has Full Access permissions, to the Mailbox He want to modify.

I have added the user with Read permission to the mailbox(Using "Folder Permissions"), and then run the "Propogate Folder ACEs" to add the rights, to the mailbox subfolders.
