How can I count number of items in user's "Tasks" and "Calendar" folders? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, experts! :)

Have you any ideas, how I can count number of items in user's "Tasks" and "Calendar" folders?

My reason: I have to estimate of using time-management tools of Outlook such as Calendar's events and user's "To-do lists". I would like to create appropriate pivot table. After that, I'm going to analyze my results. I'd like to do it quickly.

Another approach: I should go to every user in my company and look at his Outlook screens. But it is so boring... Actually I have one more problem: there are too many users in our company! More than 3000... :(

Could yoo offer me some simple automatic way to solve my problem? Some scripts, tools, etc...

    Thank you for your suggestions!

  • Hi ,

You can use Get-MailboxFolderStatistics to get what you want to.

    Get-Mailbox |Get-MailboxFolderStatistics –FolderScope ‘Calendar’

    Get-Mailbox |Get-MailboxFolderStatistics –FolderScope ‘Tasks’

If you want to filter any information from the result, you can add “| select Identity,ItemsInFolder …” behind the above command.
