Deployment and client settings issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a VDI collection that I no longer want SCCM to deliver deployments too. All deplyments are user targeted by WMI query for the relevant AD Group.

I would still like use SCCM for remote control and software metering. So I have configure the following settings for the client and targeted the VDI collection.

However when I log onto VDI deployments are still processed and applications are being installed when they shouldn’t.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Nick

  • There is no way to disable the software distribution client agent, so you just would have to remove those VDI clients from sw dist collections. Also keep in mind that the default client agent settings will always be applied.

  • Just to add a comment, un-checking a page in the client settings doesn't mean you've disabled something, it just means that that specific client settings package has no setting for those options and targeted clients will receive the settings from elsewhere (typically the default client settings package but that depends on what you all have set up) but even then, many settings have default settings on the clients themselves. This is very similar to Group Policy: not configured doesn't mean don't do anything, it just means do the default.

  • Ensure you deployed the new client settings to VDI collection.
