If I pass upgrade exam 70-521 and get MCPD Windows Developer 4 certification, do I still need to do and pass exams 70-513 and 70-516 towards obtaining the MCPD Web Developer 4 certification?

Question

Hi. I want to obtain the MCPD Windows Developer 4. However, I’m considering the advantages and disadvantages of choosing the upgrade vs the direct path.
Based on the information that I obtained on the website of Microsoft Certifications I would say that after passing upgrade exam 70-521 (Upgrade: Transition your MCPD Windows Developer 3.5, or Enterprise Application Developer 3.5 Skills to MCPD Windows Developer 4), in order to get MCPD Web Developer 4 certification I will only need to pass exams 70-515 (TS: Web Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4) and 70-519 (PRO: Designing and Developing Web Applications using Microsoft .NET Framework 4). I think that it will not be necessary to pass exams 70-513 (TS: Windows Communication Foundation Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4) and 70-516 (TS: Accessing Data with Microsoft .NET Framework 4) since by passing upgrade exam 70-521 I already obtained these 2 MCTS certifications that are prerequisites for the MCPD Web Developer 4 certification.
I think that my conclusions should be correct based on the following posts:

However, I would like to confirm them before paying and scheduling my exams.
Thank you.

Hi Miguel,
You are correct if you do the upgrade (70-521) exam you also get the MCTS exams (70-516, 70-513 and 70-511) and so 70-515 and 70-519 will give you MCPD Web 4.0.
Kind Regards,

Hi Ozzy,
Because of this information I’m going back to pursue my original strategy which is choosing the upgrade path as I updated just a few minutes ago in my post “Which path should I choose towards obtaining the MCPD Windows Developer 4 certification? “.

Thanks, this post saved me the trouble of asking the same exact question myself!
