How to backup WSUS6.3.9600.16384 WID(Windows Internal Database) with SQL server management studio 2012 RRS feed

    Hi all,

    May I know how to backup WSUS6.3.9600.16384 WID(Windows Internal Database) with SQL server management studio 2012, is that I can connect to local WSUS computer then backup the database("master") , that is all ,right ? my problem is that I am not sure which database that WSUS is using.

    Hi Sunny leong,

    Do you have a new WSUS server that need to inherit the configurations of the old WSUS server.

    If yes, then you may use this way to complete the migration:

    1. Install WSUS role on the new Server;

    2. Configure the new WSUS server to be a replica downstream WSUS server of the old one;

    3. Sync configurations from the old WSUS server;

    4. Change the new WSUS server to be autonomous and dismiss the old one.
