Help with App V packages - MS Visio 2010 and Adobe Acrobat Pro RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

I am new to APP-V and have just recently built a new APP-V 5 enviroment.

The initial plan is to get Viso standard 2010 and Adobe Acrobat X working. But so far I am failing on both.

The plan is to stream the apps to the client machine from the app v server.

    Visio 2010

The problem I am facing is when I launch Viso from the client machine Visio opens up and then soon after a message appears saying "please wait while setup prepares the necessary files" and then it just loops and eventually closes down.

Any ideas? I followed the guide on the technet site twice but no luck!

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2830069 (this is what I followed)

    Acrobat x

It will only run if I right click and run it as a administrator? anyideas?

If ran normal it moans that it cannot find the location "appdata"

This is, without a doubt, because you didn't install OffVirt.msi on your client, with the right licenses or proxies.

  • Mac,

For me, StealthPuppy's definitive guide is exactly what it claims to be.  I struggled with a similar issue with Project 2010.  http://stealthpuppy.com/white-paper-the-definitive-guide-to-delivering-microsoft-office-with-app-v/

Not sure about Adobe; I gave up on it.

  • Hello,

If you explain more of what you have done, perhaps that will allow someone to assist you?

  • Ok, So

    Visio 2010

I have configured Visio follow this guide http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2830069 on my Windows 7 SQ machine.

I then uploaded the finished package into the APP-V server and then streamed it to my client machine.

When Launching Visio on the client machine, it opens up ok initially but then loops with the message "please wait while setup prepares the necessary files" and eventually closes.

    Acrobat X

I configured it following this guide http://fbinotto.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/sequencing-adobe-acrobat-x-pro-recipe.html#!/2012/05/sequencing-adobe-acrobat-x-pro-recipe.html on my SQ machine.

I then uploaded the finished package into the APP-V server and then streamed it to my client machine.

If I do not right click on the application and run as admin it doesn't work at all. It works perfectly if I run as admin.

I hope this is enough information

  • Hello,

When applying licensing both to the sequencer and the client

-How did you do that? What steps in the guide did you decide to follow?
