set startup type of service from group policy

  • Hello,

     i want to apply group policy for specific  service to set the startup type automatic but the service is not listed in the System services in group policy, please advise.

    Three workarounds:
     
    a) Edit the GPO in question on a computer that has the service installed
    b) Configure a random service to automatic, then edit gpttmpl.inf in the
    GPO sysvol folder and replace the service name
    c) Use Group Policy Preferences "Services" and type in the service name
