extra line after signature created through HTML RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, all -

We have an HTML e-signature template that we created outside of Outlook.   The use is to copy and paste the signature from a browser to Outlook signature area.   We find when we copy the signature from the browser and paste it in Outlook, an extra line is given after the signature that isn't part of the HTML.

This causes extra space between the signature and a disclaimer that is generated through Exchange Server 2013.

I have not been able to eliminate the line.   I have tried trimming the HTML, but it doesn't seem to be the HTML that is causing it.   The line seems independent of the signature itself.

    Any suggestions?

  • Hi,

Have you tried the following method to delete the extra line break?

    1. Go to File > Options > Mail, click Signature button to open the Signatures and Stationary box.

    2. Select the signature that you want to modify, and then click Edit.

    3. Place the insertion point after the last character in the line, press Delete, and then press Shift + Enter.

    4. Repeat Steps 3 for each line of text.

    5. Click OK and see if this issue continues.

In addition, we may also try to find the signature file from the following folder and edit the .htm file to see the result:

    drive:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Steve Fan
