Sharepoint 2010 + Project Server 2010 backup with DPM 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I'm protecting my Sharepoint farm with DPM 2010.
Somehow protection for Project Server 2010 items doesn't work.

    Here's a scenario:

20:00 made full sharepoint farm backup
    20:15 backup completed
20:20 deleted some projects+their sharepoint sites (through Server Settings -> Delete enterprise objects) and also some sharepoint documents etc.
    20:30 made full farm restore
20:40 everything is back (sharepoint sites, project sites, sharepoint documents) expect projects (those projects are not in PWA -> Project Center).

Why dpm doesn't restore projects? Or I need to do some extra steps.

  • Project Server databases are not backed up by DPM2010. You can try backing up the protect server databases using SharePoint native backups.

  • Does anybody knows when dpm will support project server backups?

  • I have backed up Project Server 2010 databases using DPM SQL backups. I have also restored the Project databases from our production farm into our development farm using DPM and attached to them with complete success.
