exclude an application & related processes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi & Happy new year to all.

Is it possible to exclude a realtime/on access scan on an .exe file & the related processes it creates? or put them into a file that makes them a trusted application?

See below a question asked by one of our developers:

Re the first point when you load SAS or JDeveloper you run an exe file. This exe file actually starts a large number of other processes. With the virus checker on it obviously checks every one of these and this can mean that the program can take an unacceptable time to load. There is a workaround which involves identifying these processes and adding them to a file which makes them a trusted application. "

    Any advise/suggestions?
