SCCM 2012 Secondary site planning RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have some question about secondary site planning and deployment:

    1. Do I need to create site assignment in boundary group for secondary site? Can I use primary site assignment including parent-child boundary?

    2. If not for question #1, Do/How client still find secondary MP, DP correctly?

    3. When adding untrusted AD forests, can I add a child domain instead of the forest for publishing?

    Thanks.

Answers

  • 1) You do not need a site assignment boundary group unless you have multiple primary site

    2) Yes, DP's are found using content location boundary groups. Those you need to create for all locations where you have a DP

    3) You can add a child domain in the LDAP path. I do however recommend that you check the adforestdisc.log file to verify that it works.

  • Using site assignment boundaries for secondary sites is technically valid but not really necessary: http://blog.configmgrftw.com/?p=453
