    We inadvertently triggered Client Push Installation to unintended Server recipients while targeting a mass of non-clients.  To counter this we disabled Client Push Installation, first for servers, then entirely.  The next day, and we are still seeing client installs.  

    I know about clearing the inboxes:

    inboxes\ccr.box

    inboxes.ccr.box\inproc

    inboxes\ccrretry.box

    And I think that was sufficient for SCCM 2007, but in 2012 I think those longer lists are also buffered as working lists elsewhere.  

    So how can I be sure I have cleared all working lists for client deployment?  

    Where else are they stored?

    Did you stop the "SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER" component before deleting the ccmretry.box files?

    Is it possible that the client install had already begun before you stopped the client push?
