ADFS MFA for Office 365 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am looking to have an ADFS 2012R2 farm with Proxy use MFA for Office 365 logins and apps logins.

Do I need to use Azure MFA server or how can I setup using the office 365 MFA?

Does anyone have any clear steps for enabling ADFS to work with office 365 MFA?

    Regards,

    Paul.

  • Yes none of which I found really gave me any clear direction on step to what I am trying to achieve.

I want the ADFS server to use the 365 MFA for logins? Not sure if I need to use the Azure MFA server itself.

  • Check at this one.

If you have O365 subscription, Azure MFA capabilities is part of the subscription and depends if you have Hybrid set up, you can use Azure MFA with ADFS

  • Do you have or know of a step by step on implimenting this in ADFS using the MFA as part of my subscription office 365 MFA?

  • Does the included free MFA in 365 still require you to download the Azure MFA server on to the ADFS Servers? The Authentication methods in ADFS does not have an MFA option currently, ADFS v3.

  • No, you can use either the "Azure MFA" service (which is also included as part of O365) or install the "Azure MFA server" locally and configure it to use with your on-premises AD FS server. The latter obviously requires additional configuration/resources.

  • can I use the "Azure MFA" service (which is also included as part of O365) with ADFS? If I can, is there steps to configure this particular setup?

  • Would I need an Multi-Factor Authentication provider? I thought this was free as part of Office 365 yet it is saying I will be billed, do I not need this for ADFS?

    Thank you for your help.

  • The steps do not seem to cover ADFS. I need to know if I can use the free(included with 365) version with ADFS and if I can, how do I set this up?
