Gadget Size RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista.  After I first did the upgrade install, I realized that I needed to get a new video card to support my monitor at higher resolutions.  I did that and am now having problems with the size of some of the gadgets.  It appears that the original Clock, Calender, Media gadgets that were on the pre-new vidoe card configuration are locked into a larger size.  If I add a "new" gadget, it is the correct size.  I have tried deleting them and reinstalling, however, they still come back big.  How can I fix this?  Bob

  • Hi Bob,

Did you try the "Smaller size" button on the gadget?

If the issue persists, please try reinstalling Gadgets by the steps below:

    1. Go to Start, click Control Panel.

    2. Click Programs and Features.

    3. Click "Turn Windows features on or off" on the left pane.

    4. Uncheck "Windows Gadgets Platform".

    5. Click "Yes" to continue, and click OK to quit. Then Restart.

    6. Open "Turn Windows features on or off" again. Turn on the features "Windows Gadgets Platform".

    7. Restart.

    Hope this helps.
