Exch2016 Issue Receive Connector RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi friends,

i've got an issue with one of my Receive Connectors.
For a relay i've created a new connector and allowed the exchange users to use it.
For Authentication i set TLS and Windows Auth.

    I've set the Limits for:

    MessageRateLimit: Unlimited
    MessageRateSource: User
    MaxInboundConnection: Unlimited
    MaxInboundConnectionPerSource: Unlimited
    MaxInboundConnectionPercenatgePerSource: 100

    Restarted the Transport Service.

The issue is that i can only send 5 Messages out via this Connector.
in the Transport log i can see, that the connector is in use for the defined IP of the Server with the application that sould be relayed.

When i change the Limits of the Default Connectors it will work as well.

Do you have any idea what this could be and what i could do?
    Perhaps this is a bug?

    Best Regards
    Sebastian

  • Hi,

What do you mean by “i can only send 5 Messages out via this Connector”? At the same time?

What settings have you changed on Default Connectors? Then it got worked. Do you mean that the connector got worked?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Jason,

"What do you mean by “i can only send 5 Messages out via this Connector”? At the same time?"
Not at the same Time. My Application sends E-Mails as one on one.
When the application has sent 5 E-Mails i got the following error:
"message submission rate for this client has exceeded the configured limit."

In the Transport Log i see that my created connector is in use for the transport. But the configured limits will be ignored. When i change the settings from above to the Default Frontend Connectors i am able to send my messages.

    Best regards,
    Sebastian

  • Thanks for your response.

It's recommended to recreate the receive connector and restart the transport service then check the results.

  • Hi Jason,

first i wish a happy new year.

You can be sure, i have restarted the transport service. More than once a time.
I have restarted the whole server.

It will only work when i change the settings of the default connectors.

    Best Regards,
    Sebastian

  • Hi Sebastian,

Happy new year! Thanks for your response and the detailed information.

It looks strange, for further troubleshooting, i would like to get how many servers do you have? please run the command: Get-ExchangeServer | fl name, *version*, *role*

    Thanks for your efforts.
