  • Hi,

Jalasoft and Quest has MP for APC

    http://www.jalasoft.com/xian/networkmanager/smp

    http://communities.quest.com/docs/DOC-11054

    Or you can use SNMP:

SCOM Monitoring APC UPS Units via SNMP

  • Justin Bennett have build one for OpsMgr 2007 http://justin-bennett-msjc.blogspot.dk/2012/03/scom-monitoring-apc-ups-units-via-snmp.html.

It does not work in OM 2012 as-is, but you can import it and look at the rules and monitors and create the same ones in OM 2012.

  • if the APC UPS uses SNMP, and you can find out the OIDs it would be easy to create your own management pack monitors. I did it for a NetBotz 200 last year. marnix has a nice step by step of how to create the monitors. http://thoughtsonopsmgr.blogspot.de/2011/10/snmp-oids-and-scom-lets-start-rocking.html

    hope this helps!

  • Thanks dktoa and Lars.

As Lars told, Justin Bennett MP does not work in SCOM 2012.

I'm currently working on to create the MP for APC UPS Monitoring, I will update my result here once it is done.

    Cheers,

  • Thanks for reply scott.

Do you have idea about how to discover the network discover as APC UPS in SCOM 2012?

We can discover the ups device using Network devices class, But how to discover it as a UPS?

How to get the object identifier of the UPS?

    Expecting your reply.

    Cheers,

    Karthick

  • Hey, I thought I would post my work on this.  Eventually I'm going to make a blog post about it but haven't yet.

Here's the current MP that I've made to work with our APC devices. It may need some tweaking in your environment, but it would also provide a cool starting point to build from if you're trying to design your own. https://github.com/tyedyehumps/Random-Projects/blob/master/APCMP/MPCHM.APCUPS.xml

  • Hi everybody,

We have developed a free solution for SCOM 2012 R2 to monitor APC UPS devices - http://www.scutils.com/products/apcupsmonitoring. We just built a first version but soon we'll add more features.

And please, if you have any idea what features are missed, please contact us and we will do our best to add ones.

    Cheers,
