Exchange 5.5, 2003, 2007, 2010 & Linux Co-exist RRS feed

  • Hi I have one of my customer and they have right now Exchange 5.5 in all branches as well as on Head Office and now they are planning to Migrate certain Branches to Exchange 2003 and Certain Branches to keep same Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2007 on Main Head Office and also they are planning to migrate in future to Exchange 2010 from Exchange 2007.

    They have also certain mailboxes on Linux Machine and same domain name space @abc.com

    So my Question is does it possible to Co-exist all Exchange 5.5, 2003, 2007, 2010 & Linux at Customer Existing environment. Someone have this kind of scenario where he have plan this types of solution..

    Please reply if someone have this kind of design solution.

  • Are they all in same Exchange organization?

    Exchange 5.5 and 2007/2010 can NOT put together in coexistence in same Exchange organization. Exchange organization must be running in native mode to install Exchange 2007 which doesn't support to have Exchange 5.5, so you need to remove it before installing Exchange 2007 or 2010.
