  • Hi,

Based on the error description, check the user account you attempted the upgrade is a member of the 'Schema Admins' and/or 'Enterprise Admins' groups. Make sure "Install-WindowsFeature RSAT-ADDS" is installed, you could ping DC from this computer successfully.

If the issue persists, I recommend you to follow the steps below for troubleshooting:

    1. Please unjoin the domain at first.

    2. Rejoin the domain.

    3. Please refer to the below thread to  run "setup /prepareAD" again on a forest DC, then let the changes replicate before upgrading Exchange server.

    Prepare Active Directory and domains

  • Hi

I had a similar case last week where it listed all of the above because the server could not contact the domain controllers. After changing DNS to a different DC and a reboot all seemed fine.

Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
