Scanning of files uploaded by a user from website RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have application which allows user to upload files to web server. I want to check those files for antivirus as soon as they get saved at server. Infected files should get deleted and user should be informed about it immediately. Can this be done through ForeFront? If yes then what exactly I need to install on Web Server and how to check it. Any help on this front will be appreciated

  • Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

According to your description, I think you may deploy Forefront Client Security on the Web Server. As we know, Microsoft Forefront Client Security provides unified malware protection for business desktops, laptops, and server operating systems that is easier to manage and control. And it also have many new features, you may refer to this: http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/clientsecurity/en/us/features.aspx

If you want to deploy FCS, please read the following link.

  • Unfortunately there is no cmd line scanner/api for the client.  The files uploaded would be scanned however unless they were infected you wouldn't really  have anything to query to see that they were clean/infected to return a result to the uploader.
