Permissions vanish every night. RRS feed

  • Here's an interesting problem we seem to be facing with a single user on windows sharepoint services 3.0..

The Issue: A particular user on our domain loses the ability to upload to a document libary or add calendar events to one of our subsites despite the fact that he has "full control" for the subsite. If I edit his permissions and save them just as they already were (with full control) he will regain the ability to upload for the remainder of the work day, but by the next morning he gets a forbidden message.

My company has a multi-site sharepoint configuration with one top level site and several subsites.

What I've tried: I have completely removed his unique identity from the sharepoint permissions, he was still allowed access via Authenticated Users and the Office security group but only the abilities as expected. I added him to the permissions for the EHR subsite with full control and he was able to edit the document library and calendars until the following morning -- this has been the outcome after re-organizing his permissions multiple times.

Currently the user qualifies for permissions for the top level site and subsites under: "Authenticated Users" - Read Only, Our "Office" security group - contribute, and the EHR Sharepoint Group - design, contribute. This also allows him to upload and edit the document libary and calendar but reverts the following day as well.

I appreciate any pointers or rabbit trails to follow as I'm stumped -- the sharepoint logs I found didn't have much relative information (maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot?)

Also, it's only this particular user that is having issues with permissions.
