Organizational relationships for guest access RRS feed

  • Question

  • Essentially for the current setting in our tenant: Organizational relationships\Guests can invite we have it set to Yes.

We are wanting and thinking this setting should be turned to ‘no’ due to multiple user accounts that have had ‘guest access recently and understanding that with this access they have the ability to invite other guests from outside our tenant.

Would it be safe to do so? Does it impact current admins ability to invite a guest from one tenant to another tenant for our same organization? And what dependencies does this have on existing resources?

  • Yes it is safe to set "Guest can invite" option to No.  By default all users and guests in your tenant can invite guests without any assigned admin roles however, these external collaboration settings let you control the invitation policies and it does not impact admins capabilities to invite a guest from another tenant.  When you set this to No, only Admins and Guest inviter role and members of the tenant can invite a guest user.  There won't be any impact to existing resources but once you set this to no guest users won't be able to invite other guests.  Please refer to Enable B2B external collaboration and manage who can invite guests for additional information.
