How to dial in when you have tel;ext=101 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have configured three users like this:

    tel:+5114454553;ext=101

    tel:+5114454553;ext=101

    tel:+5114454553;ext=101

Lync users have deployed 101 to 199 as extension number. PBX owns 200 to 400 extension numbers.

Lync have a normlization rule that add +511 when you dial three digist. 201 -> +511201

How PBX should call to Lync User. Just Dial in 101 and then Gateway add +511?

  • i'll use your examples changing the users so they have unique numbers:

    tel:+5114454553;ext=101

    tel:+5114454553;ext=102

    tel:+5114454553;ext=103

On your gateway add a normalization rule that matches your extension ^\d(3) and translates it to +5113354553;ext=$1

When an inbound call to 101 it will translate to +51144545533;ext=101 and match that user.

*sorry i was unable to test this in our setup.  let me know if that worked for you.

  • Hi All,

    Thanks to all

I crate a manipulation rule to translate to +51144545533;ext=

    That works

However when lync user call the destination user see this in its LCD +51144545533. How can I change o modify resource numer which is the number of lync user

  • Hi,

You need to deploy RCC to lync integration with existing PBX.

  • Jose,

as I understand you hve a direct SIP connection from your PBX to Lync.

for your test users you have to configure unique Line URIs. In your example all Line URIs are the same.

Finally a call from the PBX to Lync needs to meet the Line URI of the called party, meaning that after all normalisation the number has to be +5114454553

if you manipulate the number on the PBX or within normalisation rules is down to your design.

same thinking is also required for outgoing calls, where you have to meet the PBX requirements for a succesful call setup.

The Ext=101 field is used Lync internal, so that you're able to setup a Lync to Lync call by dialing the 3-digit extension.

  • You are correct.

Normalization must be used and number manipulation preferably on the gateway
