What`s the best practice to get a number (more than 2) of Project Server instances merged? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone met this issue? Merge the configuration is not a problem. The real problem is encountered when merging schedules and project sites and want to preserve server data, eg. timesheets from many Project Servers 2013 and put them into one PWA 2013  instance.....

  • This is difficult, especially when it comes to utilising the timesheets; there is no out of the box solution; so the best thing to do would be to combine the ongoing projects and resources into a single instance; but then to utilise SSRS to get timesheet reports from both instances if you need them for historical analysis.  There is no "import" facility for timesheet data.

  • Or you could pick the larger of the two PWA databases as the starting database, and then export/import from the other PWA into the first.

    Cheers!
