SIP trafic with CUCM 8 when the Mediation server is not collocalised RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I've a setup with a Front-End without the Mediation role, and a separate Mediation server. The mediation server have 2 NICs: One in the Lync Front-End VLan and one in the CUCM VLan.

My question is not on the Mediation, but on the Front-End routing: Is there any flow between the Front-End and the Cisco CUCM?

We have split the Mediation from the Front-End for security reason and cannot allow a route between the Front-End server and the Cisco CUCM...

But the SIP trafic will not go through the Mediation server, does it?

  • You should not see any traffic from the FE to CUCM.

  • The SIP trafic will still go throught the Mediation server. There is no flow between the Front end and the Cisco CUCM.
