Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to allow certain files through so they can be posted to SharePoint?  I have a user that wants to post a .zip file however instead of the file being posted.  A text file gets posted instead with the following:

    FILE QUARANTINED

The original contents of this file have been replaced with
this message because of its characteristics.
    File name: 'all_files_for_printing.zip'
    Malware name: 'ExceedinglyNested'

None of the files within the .zip(s) have file types that are listed in the Filer List.

  • Hi Cyberit.08

if all or some of the files inside the zip are zip files, Forefront has a setting called Maximum nested depth compressed files with

a defaul setting of 5. You need to increase that setting to a larger number.

Just a warning, if you set this number to a high number, and there are a lot of compressed files inside the zip file, it will take a longer time

    to procees the file.

  • Thanks for the information. Did not know that, the total amount of ZIPs is 6 including the one being uploaded to SharePoint. Im going to switch it to 8 instead of 5.
