Start reading first.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398616
or

There are also lots of good external resources to consider as you start to learn more, a couple of examples:
http://blog.schertz.name/category/lync/
http://www.shudnow.net/tag/lync-2010/
You can also download a pre-configured virtual environment to give you a quick introduction:

Once you have some knowledge then start installing.

Hi,
1. You can try to understand the Lync Server Roles and the general features they provide:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398536.aspx
2. Try to review the major features of Lync Server so that you know what Lync roles you need to install.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398855.aspx
3. Try to run the Lync Server 2010 Planning tool multiple times, answer the questions differently, and compare the outcomes so that you can fully understand the Lync topology. The Lync Server 2010 Planning Tool generates a topology based on Lync Server guidelines and best practices, as well as your answers to the infrastructure, desired features and capacity-planning questions.

4. Then you can download a pre-configured virtual environment or start to install Lync server. For major features, it can be divided into several stages to deploy:
Determine and prepare infrastructure requirements
Deploying Lync Server Enterprise or Standard Edition
Deploying Edge Server
Deploying Enterprise Voice
