is there a simple way, to monitor the status of SAN-Disks (attached on server with emulex hba-FC-card)?
we had the following issue: the san-disk was connected through two separated fibre-links to our system. both fibre-links had link-status green (SAN-Switch), but in the windows operating system, there was some issue with the mpio-driver and one link was down.
i was reviewing the server management-pack, but couldnt find any monitors or rules, who will tracking such events? (maybe enabling physical-disk-monitoring?)
how do you monitor san-disks in your environment?
- logging windows event-logs? (source mpio?)
- tracking status with WMI?
- PS-Script? (but how to implement in a proper way to scom)
- official management-pack?
- ....
