Unable to access user mailbox after failed Migration RRS feed

  • We have tried to move a users mailbox and encountered trouble. The move process reached 99% complete and failed.

    When we try to iopen the users Outlook 2007 "Default Mailbox Items" cannot be opened.

    When we  try to log on to a users OWA account we receive the following message.  "You weren't able to sign in because the mailbox is being moved.  you won't be able to access it until the move is complete" after reviewing many articles and finding the proposed solutions do not resolve the problem I am openning this discussion.

    The failed move request has been cleared, when we retired the move are told that the source mailbox DB is not what it is supposed to be. 

    We eventually discovered that the mailbox is no longer on the Exchange 2003 server and is now on the Exchange 2010 server where we want it.

    We have tried to move it back with the same message.

    From powershell received a message that the mailbox is in transit and the move request fails. "MapiExceptionMailboxInTransit: Unable to open message store. (hr=0x8004005, ec=1292)"

    Since the mailbox appears to be where we want it is there a way to remove the InTransit Flag from the mailbox and make it available again? 

    FYI an export of the mailbox to PST was done prior to the move process...
