Unable to join new Win7 pc to domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know that I am missing something simple, but I can't figure out where it is. We are replacing an older Win XP machine with a new nice fresh Win 7 machine, but I am unable to join it to the domain.

  • What is the IP address of your domain controller?  It seems to me that your new machine isn't pointing to a DNS server that is able to point you to the DC.  The missing DNS server entry on the new machine is 192.168.1.87.  Put that in as one of the DNS Servers (preferably the first), and I bet you'll be able to join it to the domain.
