User has no option for 2010 workflows RRS feed

  • Question

  • In SharePoint Online, a user, with full control over a subsite, opens SharePoint Designer 2013 and selects Workflows. They try to creae a List workflow, but have no option for 2010 workflows. 2013 workflows can be created just fine, and the user has created a 2013 workflow. I find this odd as I thought 2010 workflows worked without any configuration or the activating of any site features.

    No 2010 Platform Type option

I've searched online and can't find any guidance on how to enable the 2010 platform type as an option.

It's worth noting that I (global admin) can select a 2010 workflow on the given site.

  • Hi,

Do other subsites have the same issue?
Does this issue exist on other computers machines?

Please enable the “SharePoint Server Publishing” feature in this site, check if the issue is fixed.
Please provide a screenshot about all enabled features in your subsite.
Feel free to reply if there is any update.

  • It appears that enabling the SharePoint Server Publishing site feature has fixed the problem, thanks.
