Cisco AnyConnect VPN software doesn't work with Windows 10 build 9926 RRS feed

  • Question

  • This VPN client (Cisco Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client 3.1.04702) worked with previous builds if I turned Windows 8 Compatibility mode on.  With this latest build, it no longer does.   The client still starts, and the connection process almost completes, but it eventually fails with: "The VPN client driver encountered an error. Please restart your computer or device, then try again."  Needless to say, rebooting does NOT actually fix the problem. :-(

Answers

  • Good support from Cisco, they replied via Twitter that this is fixed with AnyConnect 3.1.06078 and provided the new version. I can confirm that it is working with the new version.

  • Same problem for me with AnyConnect 3.1.05152.

Have tried all the compatibility settings and checked the previous registry settings but no luck :(

Dave, I think you'll need to post here to get help with that:

  • I have the 3.1.05178 version and it is not working with the 9926 build.  Do you have the link for the new one?

  • I can say that Cisco AnyConnect (3.1.06073) just errors out on the install with

"The VPN client agent was unable to create the interprocess communication depot."

I'll go check for 3.1.06078 and put a change request in on our site to update the firewall.

  • Updated this morning to Windows 10 Pro TP Build 10041.

Cisco AnyConnect 3.1.06079 also is working fine again.  Previously it worked with build 9926, but disconnecting from one site and then connecting to another generally failed.  Even disconnecting and reconnecting to the same site was problematic.  But, now able to switch between two sites now and no need to reboot Windows every time :)
