Team Assignment Pool & capacity graph RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I’m trying to create a report of resource capacity against allocated capacity.  For each of our teams within our departments i have defined the team lead with the Team Assignment Pool tick box, ticked. So our planners can assign tasks to teams. However, this now appears to be giving me an issue when i want to report on allocated capacity as the team leads don’t show anything even although they may be legitimately assigned to a particular task.

Any thoughts or ideas how i can retain teams, but still report on allocated capacity?

    Many thanks

  • By checking the box, you are telling Project Server that the Team Lead *is* the pool.  The pool itself has no capacity; only team members have capacity.

Uncheck the box for each of the team leads.  Then, create a new (non-human) resource to be the pool.  you could use a Generic resource for htis purpose.  Make the Team Lead the Assignment Owner for the new pool resource.
