Need help with Windows activation code

Question
-
I have a pop up that says Windows Activation required. An unauthorized change was made to windows.
You must retype your Windows Vista "Home Premium product key to activate.
You can find your product sticker on your computer or on the installation disk holder inside the windows package. I have one problem my daughter tore the sticker off the computer and I have found the disk but it will not load. Can someone please help me and tell me what to do to get my product key activation. Thanks so much.
