DPM 2010 Documentation and Management Shell For 32bit Machines RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can anyone confirm that there is no documentation available for DPM 2010? Is the DPM 2010 Management Shell available for 32bit workstations?

    Thanks!

  • Hey JMinnick

The management shell can be installed on an 32bit workstation.

The documentation for the powershell commands can be found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff631926.aspx

    Just my 2 cents

    Cheers,

  • Here is the documentation for DPM 2010: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff399192.aspx, DPM 2007 SP1 documentation also holds good DPM 2010 unless otherwise stated differently for DPM 2010. DPM 2010 management shell is not available for 32 bit work stations.

  • Hey Praveen,

Indeed, according to the documentation, it is not supported anymore on 32-bit computers.

You can also install DPM Management Shell on desktop computers running 64-bit versions Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista SP1 and Windows 7.

So my question here is: I am running a client on 64-bit, but many of my customers aren't doing this (yet?).  Will it be supported in the future or are there no plans for that?

    thanks
