Error during console installation RRS feed

  • I haven't seen this error before and I can find no documentation on the web for this error occurring during a console install.  There are some posts for this error during a management server installation.  Does any one know what I can do to fix this?

    Install Log:

    The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 25211. The arguments are: -2147024894, The system cannot find the file specified.,
    CustomAction _InstallInterceptPerfCounters.A591E3B4_D228_431D_BF89_99D52C8FFB76 returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

  • I've given up on trying to find a fix for this.  Will just re-image the machine.

    Do you mean you recieve this error when you run service manager installation?

    Did you install SCOM agent on this server before install service manager? If there is agent installed, you may first remove it and please also check do you have any other system cente related component installed.

  • I get this error when installing the SCSM client on an end user's computer.  This is not for a server installation.

    What is your Operating system version?

    If you are using Windows 7 to install Service Manager 2012 R2 Console, did you have the below two things installed:

    ADO.NET Data Services Update for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (Hotfix KB982307)
    (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8165)

    - Microsoft Analysis Management Objects (AMOs)
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16978

  • The PC is Windows 7 x64.  It started as a console upgrade from 2012 SP1 to 2012 R2 so all the prerequisites are installed.  Both the upgrade process and a clean install both fail for the same reason.  It is the only PC in our organization that has failed to install or upgrade.  I have the user using the console via Citrix so there is no impact.  However, I would like to get to the bottom of why this one PC is failing.
