Configuration Manager did not find a site to manage this client RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I am new in SCCM and i am starting to hate it, please help!

See the picture from this Link

I have installed SCCM 2012 ( there was previous SCCM 2007, that i deleted without any uninstall).
I have gaved permisions to the OU that was already created ( forgot to add on the descendant objects, i run the schema extend ExtADSch.exe, i have seen some errors in Applications, I have changed the Security of the OU and some of the allerts dissapeared but i still have the ones from the Picutre.

The problem is that when i install the Agent with "Install Client" it gets installed but it does not comunicate back with the SCCM Server, i think it does not know how to find it. If i go on the server and at the Agent i manualy enter the Site Code, i recive the error: "Configuration Manager did not find a site to manage this client"

    Please Help!

    thank you,
    Adrian

  • Since you haven't uninstall your CM07 check to see if its info is still available in AD under System Management Container. How did you install the CM client? Is the CM Client member of AD? Is there any error messages in ClientIDManagerStartup.log, ClientLocation.log and LocationServices.log log files on the client?

  • If you check the picture in the link you will see that I only have only 1 under System Management Container, the new one.
The clients are AD Memenrs and I installed them with Client Install ( by righ clik the agent), like i told in the first post :)

See new picture for more data http://byty.ro/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/SCCMConfig2.png , like you see some of the are working some not!

  • It seems as if the client retrieves information for site 001. Have you already double checked WINS, DNS and AD?
Is the new site able to publish to AD successfully?

  • I do not have WINS, delete all that i coud find in DNS and in AD related to the old server.

Strange thing.... is that i have some agents that are working and i think are the servers that did not had previously an agent installed.

What i have seen is another line in the logs... (what policy.. i do not have one?!?!?! i do not see it at least)
