powershell msi file array issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Below is how I built out the install of the msi file, in powershell it is not working. If I run it locally from a dos command prompt it works without a issue... What am I doing wrong?

    $ATPPlugginArray = @(
        'APPFOLDER=C:\Program Files\Dell\Dell Data Protection\Advanced Threat Prevention\Plugins ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1" /qn /norestart'
    )

    Start-process -Filepath ATP_CSF_Plugins_x64.msi -Argumentlist $ATPPluginArray -WorkingDirectory 'Networkshare'

Answers

  • Do you need to cd to the folder that your ATP_CSF_Plugins_x64.msi is in?

    Are you running the PowerShell session as an Administrator?

  • The vendor copied the executable locally and then had the path changed

  • The command sytax that was used is the following

    Start-Process ($LocalCache + "ATP_CSF_Plugins_" + $Arch + ".msi") -ArgumentList ('/qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress APPFOLDER="C:\Program Files\Dell\Dell Data Protection\Advanced Threat Prevention\Plugins" ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1')
