Error when Publishing RemoteApp through UAG RRS feed

  • Question

  • So just to give some background on this one.

I have built a fully functional RDS environement

I have one server that is the Gateway Web access and the connection broker.

Then I have two machines as session hosts in a round robin dns.

My environemnt works great internally and even when publish through tmg is working great.  Now i am attempting to publish this through UAG

I follow the guide on Technet  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee441339.aspx

When I attempt to connect from a Windows 7 machine it just sits there, no error or time out.

When I attempt the same connection form a Windows 2008 R2 machine I get his error:

"To use this program or computer, first log on to the following website:" <UAG trunk>

It does not really seem to matter what settings I change the same error keeps popping up.

    Any Ideas?

  • Hi Etienne,

For RDG-based apps, certificates are VERY important. Also, the version of the RDP client is critical. The error you see from 2008 seems to me to indicate that the RDC is unable to attach to the UAG session, and that may be cookie related. To narrow things down, I'd suggest you publish a single internal server using the "Remote Desktop (Predefined)"  template. If that works, then your RDG and UAG are probably configured correctly and this is related specifically to the RemoteApp server config.

  • Hi,

    1. Export the application to .rdp format ("Create .rdp file" from the right menu) and try to run it from the UAG (to see if you get the same error)

    2. I guess you get this error because you remove the app and configure it again but didn't export the list and import it again to the UAG

  • Hi there

When I export to rdp and start it from the UAG server everythign works fine.

I get this error all the time it has NEVER worked.

I am getting so frustrated and to top things off i am not sure if my certificates are right and of they have anythign to do with this problem.

I have set up certificates by following this guide  http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2010/04/09/configuring-remote-desktop-certificates.aspx

Interestingly though from the remote session host i cannot sign the apps using that certificate  - i have to use a computer certificate.

    Any ideas?
