vista - "connect to a network" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello. Does anyone know if it's possible to launch "the connect to a network" screen by a command prompt? I'm wondering how to create an additional shortcut.

I know there are various ways to do it in the windows GUI, including the start menu.

I know "ncpa.cpl" launches the list of network connections, so I'm thinking there could be a similar commmand.

  • This will create a desktop shortcut:

Click the Windows Orb (Start) and Copy & Paste shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} into the search box and press Enter. You may have to click the entry again where it is displayed at the top of the list.

Once the whole list is shown, scroll down to Connect to a Network (or Connect to a wireless network), right-click it and create a shortcut.

If you want to create a permanent link to All Tasks, drag the icon shown in the display to the Desktop or to a location of your choice.
