IE automatically unpacking.UPD files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

We're having a problem. Internet Explorer is automatically unpacking .UPD files to .tar.gz when downloaded from the web.

As you can imagine, we need the .UPD to maintain its format in order for it to be used to update firmware (can't load file directly onto the unit).

Gas anyone come across this problem before or has any suggestions to stop Internet Explorer from doing this - it is the only browser that does it.

Many thanks for any help you can give.

  • Hi,

.tar.gz is a common compression format in Liux or OSX. But in Windows, you can try upzipping it using 7-zip tool.

Are there any convert tool in your system? Plese attempt to download this UPD file after you make a clean boot.

Also, could you please provide us with your downloading link for your UPD file so that we can make a test?
