Process Monitor query and ACT Working Directory RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm currently carrying out some Win7 application testing on an Oracle driven application. Most of the application works however there is a particular part that when access causes it to hang.

Unfortunately the working directory needs to be a different directory to where the executable is stored. I don't believe there's any way to specify a different working directory in ACT (Standard User Analyser)?

Failing that I thought I'd try and use Sysinternals Process Monitor to try and track down what was being accessed/used. Rather annoyingly the application works completely fine IF the process monitor is running in the background when the application is started (giving me about 80,000 success messages). Does anyone have any idea why this might be the case? I can't seem to find anyone else with the same issue!

Any help or suggestions on a way forward would be greatly appreciated!
